Terms of Service & License Agreement

Welcome to madebyMal. By accessing or using our website, or by purchasing our products, you agree to these Terms of Service and to the License Agreement below. If you do not agree, please do not use our website or products.
1. Use of the Website
You agree to use madebyMal only for lawful purposes and in a way that does not infringe on the rights of others or restrict their use of the site. You may not misuse the website or its content, attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of it, or use it for illegal or harmful activities.
2. License to Use Templates (What You CAN DO)
By purchasing a template from madebyMal, you are granted a non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the template as follows, unless a different license tier is stated at the time of purchase:
Single Use License:
You may use the template to create one (1) final website, for yourself or for one (1) client.
Customize the template completely — change colors, typography, and layouts, and add your own content.
Publish the remixed website on Framer or on any custom domain.
3. Restrictions (What You CANNOT Do)
No Redistribution:
You may not share the Framer Remix Link, resell, lease, or distribute the template (in its original or modified form) to any third party.
No Competing Products: You may not use the template, or any of its UI components, to create a derivative template, UI kit, or theme to sell on any marketplace.
No Multi-Client Use: You may not use a Single Use License to build multiple websites for different clients. If you need to build another site, you must purchase another license.
4. Ownership & Intellectual Property
All templates, designs, code, graphics, and branding on madebyMal remain the intellectual property of madebyMal, unless otherwise stated. Purchasing a template grants you a license to use it not ownership of it. You may not claim our work as your own.
5. Third-Party Assets
Templates may include demo content such as images, fonts, and icons that are owned by third parties and provided for preview purposes only. These assets may be licensed separately and are not included with your purchase. Before publishing a commercial website, you are responsible for replacing this demo content or obtaining the proper licenses for it. madebyMal is not responsible for third-party assets you choose to keep.
6. Payments & Digital Products (Contra)
All purchases are handled securely through Contra, the platform we use to sell our products. We do not process or store your payment details on our servers. When you buy a template, you receive a license to use it, and access is delivered digitally via a Framer Remix Link after purchase.
7. Refund Policy
Because our products are digital and delivered instantly via a Framer Remix Link, all sales are final. We do not offer refunds once the template has been accessed. Refund requests are also handled in accordance with Contra's policies where applicable. If you experience a technical issue with a template, please contact support and we will help you resolve it.
8. Limitation of Liability
Our templates and website are provided "as is," without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee that the website will always be available or error-free, that a template will meet every specific need, or that it will produce any particular business result. To the fullest extent permitted by law, madebyMal is not liable for any damages, losses, or issues arising from the use of, or inability to use, our website or products.
9. Termination
This license is automatically void if you breach any of these terms including redistribution, creating competing products, or multi-client misuse. We also reserve the right to suspend or terminate access to madebyMal if these terms are violated.
10. Third-Party Links & Tools
Our website may include links to or integrations with third-party services (such as Framer and Contra). We are not responsible for the content, policies, or practices of those third parties.
11. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms of Service and License Agreement from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with a new "Last updated" date. Continued use of the website or products after changes means you accept the revised terms.
